Are your 20s really the best years of your life?
Everyone says your 20's are the best years of your life, but is that just their nostalgia talking?
In your 20s you begin to navigate adulthood. Paying taxes? Bills? Job? What the hell am I doing? No one ever really teaches you how to do all this "big girl" things, so unless you want an unpleasant chat with the IRS, we have to learn how to do these things ourselves.
Older people have always said, "I miss when I was 20, So carefree with no responsibility" "Enjoy your 20s, you'll miss them one day", however, I'm not so inclined to believe that. The people usually saying these token phrases are people who have families, decent jobs, mortgage almost paid off, and are near retirement, what about the young 20-something woman who lives in a new city, knows no one, and is working the field on finding a spouse that won't go sleep with his secretary the second you pop a baby out and you don't look pre-pubescent.
In your 20s you go through relationship after relationship, job after job, bill after bill, wondering when it will ever get better. Maybe this is just my opinion, but retirement, spending the fruits of your labor on a tropical beach, sounds much better to me.
